Spermatogenesis (biological process of formation and maturation of spermatozoa) is complex and a very sensitive process. It lasts about 72-75 days. During this period, spermatozoa need supply of amino acids, trace elements and vitamins important for their proper development.
Numerous international studies have confirmed that they play an important role in the formation of spermatozoa L-carnitine, L-arginine, Zn, Se, vitamin A, B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, glutathione, coenzyme Q10 and folic acid. Regular intake of these substances in the necessary concentrations (doses) can improve fertility and restore the male's reproductive function. FertilMan® plus was created by British scientists to improve male fertility.- Increasing the volume of sperm
- Increasing the number (concentration) of spermatozoa
- Increasing sperm motility
- Decreasing the number of pathological forms of spermatozoa
| Indicator | Value |
|---|---|
| Volume of ejaculate, ml | 1.5 and above |
| Total sperm count, million | 39 and over |
| Sperm concentration, million in 1 ml | 15 and over |
| Total sperm motility, % | 40 and over |
| Sperm with progressive movement, % | 32 and over |
| Viability, % | 58 and over |
| Morphology: normal forms, % | 4 or more |
- Normozoospermia - indicators within normal limits
- Oligozoospermia - concentration of spermatozoa below normal (less than 15 million in 1 ml).
- Asthenozoospermia - decrease in the number of motile spermatozoa (less than 40% of category A + B and less than 32% of category A).
- Teratozoospermia - reduced number of spermatozoa of normal morphology (less than 4% of spermatozoa of normal shape).
- Oligoasthenoteratozoospermia - a combination of astheno-, oligo- and teratozoospermia (OAT syndrome).
- Necrozoospermia (necrospermia) - absence of live spermatozoa in the ejaculate.
- Azoospermia - absence of spermatozoa in the ejaculate.
- Aspermia - complete absence of sperm.
- Oligospermia - insufficient volume of ejaculate (less than 1.5 ml).
- Leukocytospermia (leucospermia or pyospermia) - increased content of leukocytes in semen (more than 1 million/ml).
- 1st stage - preliminary - it is necessary to exclude factors that negatively affect a man's reproductive health. This stage in each specific case can last a different time: from several days to six months. After completing the previous stage, you can proceed directly to preparation for conception.
- 2nd stage - preparation for conception - this stage lasts 3 months (sperm maturation period) and is aimed at obtaining high-quality sperm.
- Get tested for sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, hepatitis B and C. Some of them are asymptomatic. These diseases can be transmitted to the expectant mother and cause abortion or severe fetal malformations.
- Do a spermogram if you have reasons to doubt your reproductive capabilities (eg, childhood mumps, work in hazardous production, etc.). Before this analysis, it is necessary to refrain from sex (including masturbation) for 3-4 days. A spermogram can help assess your fertility (ability to have healthy offspring).
- Visit an andrologist to make sure that there are no diseases in which conception is unlikely and which require only operative methods of treatment (varicocele, hydrocele, inguinal hernia, obliteration of the vas deferens due to infectious diseases or injuries, etc.)
- Take a therapeutic examination (general examination, clinical blood test, fluorography / X-ray). Such diagnostics are necessary to detect and cure chronic infectious diseases that can be transmitted to the expectant mother and child. Some diagnostic methods of examination can have a negative effect on male reproductive abilities, so conception should occur no earlier than 3 months after such an examination.
